FOUR CORNERS WINERY & WEDDING VENUE
LEARN A BIT ABOUT US
We are so pleased that you have taken the time to get to know a little bit about the owners of Four Corners Winery. Our names are Deanne Sasser and Mike Tisma, and we first spotted the farmhouse at the intersection of County Roads 600 North and 300 East in Valparaiso while looking for a place big enough for our blended family. That was around 10 years ago, and at that time, we decided to move closer to downtown Valparaiso.
Despite that decision, Deanne kept the property in the back of her mind for fulfilling her longtime dream of opening a Winery. In October 2010, we finally decided to make an offer with everything we had, and suddenly, Deanne had her farmhouse. We now had everything in place to begin construction of the perfect Winery and ultimately the beautiful Wedding Venue.
The 1870s home, which sits on almost 11 acres, was in need of a lot of blood, sweat, and tears from both Deanne and Mike. You have to ask to hear about some of the incredible stories... Working in our free time – Mike owns a business in Valparaiso and Deanne was an attorney – we restored the home's wood floors and re-plastered the walls, among other restorations. With its warm tones and exposed woodwork, the house will become the site of the tasting room for Four Corners Winery. We cleaned up the property and constructed a new pole barn for the production of wine. In late spring of 2017, we were asked to clean out the Quonset-style barn for a young couple to use as a wedding reception hall. This led to the creation of a beautiful reception area that far exceeded the expectations of the Bride and Groom.
While Weddings and small events have already been enjoying this rustic and beautiful gathering place for a few years, and the actual winery finally opened at the end of July 2021. We are excited to share the fruits of our labors, and look forward to meeting you very soon!
